PEOPLE FALLING DOWN: Cause there ain't nothing funnier.
I've been cleaning my garage the past few days because I'm having some repair work done this week that requires garage access. The only time a car has ever actually been parked in that garage was after I had been in an accident with my beloved Honda, and out of desperation, I parked it in the garage. Unfortunately it had been raining the day I was in my accident, so the car eventually molded and I sold it to my brother's friend who apparently didn't mind a car that required the passengers to wear protective masks.
I'm getting off topic here... the garage. Yes, the garage is just a storage mecca with a small area for laundry. It's where household appliances that are no longer wanted go to die. It's where mice hole themselves up for the winter. It's where tools go after they are used one time and then put away...forever.
So today I tackled the very large metal shelf against one wall that has had the same boxes on it for nearly 10 years. It came as no surprise to me that most of the boxes were papers. If you want to know anything about military communications, I probably have something of interest for you. Without mentioning any names, a certain person has a very hard time throwing away papers-related items. Is it really important to keep course catalogs from 1996? I, on the other hand, went through several boxes of my college paperwork and probably 30 or so grade school curriculum notebooks and promptly dumped them into big garbage bags. Like I need to be reminded of all the money and time I put into my college degree? Uh, no.
So I actually accomplished quite a bit for 90+ degree weather. The garage is what I would like to call a more "organized mess" at the moment.

I'm sorry to abandon livingitrural from time to time. Life gets busy.
I'm trying to figure out ways to completely wear out my children this summer. I know some parents read books on raising kids, some watch PBS shows on it, or research on the internet. My theory is that it doesn't matter how you raise them--if they're completely exhausted and cannot move, they won't be hard to control.
Right now I'm trying to figure out if mace is an effective way to scare off any bears that we might come across on one of our many hikes.
